Bio/Resume

I have a degree in Art History and have been a practicing Visual Artist for over 25 years in Banff, Alberta. I have worked in Contemporary Galleries in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Banff, Alberta. My arts related work experience includes having worked at The Banff Centre for the Arts as Curatorial Assistant for the Walter Phillips Gallery; Manager of Visual Arts and New Media and most recently as the Manager of the Leighton Artists’ Colony at the Banff Centre for the Arts.

Other work experience includes Floral Designer; Interior Designer; Graphic Designer and Project Manager. I’m Past Chair of the Town of Banff Public Art Committee and currently sit on the committee as a public member. Interestingly enough every position I have had has informed my art work to some degree, most recently as a Floral Designer for a local floral shop. This work certainly has provided me with an abundance of inspiration for my artwork practice.

As well as art related work experience I have had a other work experiences that have enriched my life here in Banff. I have my LEED AP Accreditation in New Construction which has allowed me to work on environmentally friendly construction projects.

My work experience, although varied, has led me to be open to new experiences that feed my curiosity, especially in my art practice, which is a significant part of my life, and gives me a reason to explore new ideas every day.
